Bruce & Karen: No more power bills!
We installed Solar with a battery almost a year ago for Bruce and Karen in Titirangi.
They were having annual power bills of around $5000 and at the time were purchasing an EV car. We proposed a solar system for them which cost $30,000 and included an EV charger. There were some shading issues on their roof which we noticed early on and were able to mitigate through the use of some smart technology called optimisers.
We suggested two Award-Winning Fronius inverters coupled with BYD batteries and 11.5kW of Hyundai solar panels. We believe in installing good quality products for our customers that will still be working well years after their warranty period has ended. The products also had a long corrosion warranty period which was important living close to the beach. Bruce and Karen were happy with our suggestions. We also connected them to our partner energy retailer to get them a really good export rate.
Almost a year later they have had no power bill and are actually in credit with the power company. Their new EV car which they purchased with the solar has been charged almost entirely with the power they are getting from the solar panels on their roof. This equates to savings on fuel of around an additional $5,000 as well as the electricity!
Bruce estimates that the entire system including their Polestar 2 Electric Car will pay for itself in about 10 years. It means the difference in having a car that costs you money versus a car that pays for itself, not to mention the solar panels on the roof which will last for at least 20 years!
