Our team delivered a tailored commercial solar solution for Waterware, New Zealand’s leading specialist importer and distributor of premium bathroomware, kitchen fixtures, central heating & cooling systems, and plumbing products, based in their East Tamaki facility in Auckland.
Operating from a large warehouse and showroom, Waterware manages significant energy demands through lighting, climate control for product displays, office spaces, and general operations—contributing to rising electricity costs that many wholesale businesses face in today’s market.
As a local Auckland project, our crew could respond quickly for assessments and installation. The main challenge arose from the building’s roof structure: wider-than-standard purlin spacings required custom engineering and the addition of extra structural supports to safely accommodate the solar array without compromising the roof integrity. Our team collaborated closely with structural engineers to design and install reinforced mounting rails, ensuring full compliance and long-term durability.
The completed system now produces clean solar energy on-site during peak business hours, substantially lowering Waterware’s reliance on grid power and delivering ongoing operational savings while aligning with their focus on innovative, sustainable solutions. This installation demonstrates how targeted adaptations can overcome site-specific hurdles to unlock solar benefits for established commercial premises.
